Emerge – The Hanover Area Conference for Women is a one-day professional and personal development event for women that will feature more than 20 engaging speakers sharing inspirational stories and leading seminars on the issues that matter most to women, including health & wellness, career development, leadership, work/life balance, and more. The conference will offer incredible opportunities for business networking, professional development, and personal growth. Join us as we introduce YWCA Hanover’s inaugural women’s conference – Friday October 18th.

  • Dreams of a Dreamer: Gisele Barreto Fetterman (Morning Keynote Speaker)

The Second Lady of Pennsylvania, Gisele Barreto Fetterman, shares her work as an access and equality advocate and her story as a child living with an undocumented status for more than a decade.

  • My Metal Working Story: Changing Career Mindsets

Karen Russell will share how her career began in the manufacturing sector and evolved into welding and fabrication.  She will discuss her experiences as she pursued a non-traditional career path beginning nearly forty years ago.

  • Conversational Tips: How to Talk With Your Aging Parent

Join Jennifer as she provides you with tips on how to navigate conversations by learning when to approach your aging parent, ways to approach the conversation, techniques to enhance trust and how to de-escalate the conversation when it becomes heated.

  • Yoga and Meditation – Self Care with a Purpose

In this beginner friendly yoga and guided meditation practice we will explore how we can reconnect to our true self and operate from this space rather than our reactionary mind. We will notice how taking this small amount of time for yourself will benefit everyone you encounter.
